How the Service Works

“Support given by group leader enabled me to quit after smoking for 40 + years at the 1st attempt. SSW does what it says on the tin!!!When you decide to stop smoking you don't have to do it alone. Stop Smoking Wales is a free NHS service to help people in Wales quit smoking.

We know that giving up smoking isn't easy. That's why our service offers a friendly group approach that will help you to quit smoking and that provides support to help you stay stopped.

You are four times more likely to quit with a support programme like Stop Smoking Wales than going it alone.

Group Session 3We hold weekly group sessions across Wales and you can find a group at a time and venue that is suitable for you. Group sessions start a few weeks before you plan to quit and help you to prepare for your quit date. Group sessions last for six weeks.

After you have quit you can continue to meet your group each week for  advice and motivation, helping you to stay stopped.

If you would like to quit smoking speak to one of our friendly team members for free on 0800 085 2219
